M.Gabrielle Thierry has been a painter for 10 years. Living in Paris, she moved to Andrésy, by the river Seine and Oise, in the northeast part of the Paris region in France. In Andrésy, she found the inspiration for her work. Following a long period of study of forms and colors of the river banks, always in motion, her work focused on the « rhythms » found in the landscape. The particular life brought by the river, the movements of lights on water, and most especially the reflections are inspiring her search of colors and compositions. The artwork of M.Gabrielle is actually evolving and is aiming at the the synthesis between musical compositions and colors.

Inauguration on Saterday 19th. of June - 17h30 at the Centre Mondial de la Paix.

"My researches on the interpretation of nature and landscape brought me to think about their musicality. I retranscribe on the canvas not only the landscapes as I see it, but also with the rhythms and the musics that I feel from it.
The work proposed here is the realization of a painting from the landscape of Verdun, which contemporary emotion is very strong and present.

Some composers, then on the front, have been able to realize musical works inspired by the battlefields, begin in total immersion in this landscape, frame of their inspiration. Their listening bring us in this past and I wished to show their music in the pictorial representation of the nowadays landscape. The composer selected for this approach is Lucien Durosoir (1878-1955). He is a well-known musician who was mobilized at the front. His letters from war show the importance of its violin activity during these years of violence."
